"POSSIBLE VIRUS" on by BDAZZLL
Pros: easy to use
Cons: possible virus transmitted to my Sony TV
Summary: Love the Tivo but it seems a virus was downloaded to my Sony TV when Directv updated it's software.
A black box appears at odd times with scrambled text, it isn not in the recording, only on the TV. -
"just about my favorite electronic device" on
Pros: Does just what it should. I would be hard pressed to improve the design of this awesome piece of equipment!!!
Cons: Cannot be used with standard cable TV.

"Guide is a giant step backward" on
Pros: I agree with the last reviewer about the great features of this receiver. I especially like the ability to pause and review live TV. I can summarize my thoughts about this unit by saying that I love the features and hate the user interface.
Cons: The guide on this system is a huge step back from the first-generation RCA receiver it replaced in our home. Not only is it slow, but it lacks the ability to hide objectionable programming from our kids. Why should our preteens have to see program title

"works great I will never go back" on
Summary: It was easy to set up and the UI was a breeze. I wish it had more space. I have to really keep up with the saved shows to make room for the new shows. It runs using Linux and some friends have hacked their boxes to create more disk space using their home networks.
