"Phenomenal!!" on by pfichman
Pros: EXTREMELY Efficient!!
Cons: No pure HDTV recording yet :(
Summary: I bought both a TiVo and a Replay TV to compare the services...Replay wins HANDS down!! The one thing I give the nod to TiVo is that it does have a better channel guide. But, if you want an efficient, VERY user friendly interface and quick quick quick navigation, go ReplayTV! Instead of having to fast-forward through the commercials, you can either quick skip by 30 seconds or use the Show/Nav to skip the entire commercial segment! I also found that the TiVo required more menu pages to accomplish what ReplayTV does in 1 step. Replay also has more flexible recording options, much easier to deal with than TiVo.

"More bugs than Florida" on
Pros: Advanced feature set. Good search ability. You can transfer programs to a computer via a home network. Nice skip ahead or back feature.
Cons: Poor hardware. The first unit arrived DOA. The second unit lasted less than 2 months before having to be sent back. Terrible customer service with long wait times. The product is buggy as all get out, with many known issues (see AV forums). Did I mention

"Awesome DVR, but it's not for Grandma - power users will love it!" on by edifyyo
Pros: Reliable, doesn't hide advanced functionality from the user, hacker-friendly, 30-second advance
Cons: UI is kind of "clunky"
Summary: The only real downside to the ReplayTV is, nit-pick-illy, the blue power LED on the front - it's SO BRIGHT that it's very distracting when the room is dark; I've taped a several-layers-thick strip of paper over it to dim the light to a normal level. That pretty much sums up the ReplayTV - TOO MUCH POWER!

"owned previous Replay TV" on
Pros: This is my owner loyalty backfiring.
Cons: Originally liked the digital (optical) out and the auto skip menu for getting around commercials. The new unit only offers a button for a "30 second skip" which means you have to mash on it 5 to 7 times every time a commercial comes on. I HATE THIS. I
