"Great picture"
Pros: very slim for a CRT
Cons: still heavy but lighter than other CRTs of similar size
Summary: Having seen the Samsung in Circuit City I can say that the picture is great. From a frontal view you would think you were watching a Plasma TV except the picture doesn't have the pixalation of the Plasma. It also looks better than the LCDs I have seen. Contrast was very good.
About the weight: CNET's stated weight of 132lbs is incorrect. The actual weight is 120lbs. That's still heavy but lighter than the Panasonic 27" Tau series TV that I currently have. I intend on getting one of these as the Panasonic's replacement for the bedroom.
While the Plasmas and LCDs are very nice their prices are NOT. Smasung's set on the other hand is very stylish, space saving and great to watch.
One last thing to be considered is durability. There is some doubt as to how long the Plasma and LCD TVs will last. Something to weigh against their high price. Tube TVs on the other hand have a reputation of longevity which means I will still be enjoying my Samsung when others are buying their second or third Plasma or LCD. Now that's value!
