"Almost close to perfect"
Pros: Cheap, Great Quality picture, cheap, no worry for burn in or dead pixels
Cons: Sound options are minimal, switching interfaces takes a while, cheap looking remote
Summary: This is a great TV, especially for those who want a HDTV but don't want to risk buying a LCD or plasma which they know will devalue and be outdated in a matter of time(I recently started having to pay back college loans, you start thinking about this type of stuff). This is the perfect middle ground, all the pros of HDTV without any of the cons of the HDTV prices. For the cost, you could buy an LCD, but the size will be less than half of this.
But you also have to remember thought that this is still a CRT, so the thickness is still there. Frankly I didn't care about the thickness because it's still a lot thinner than my previous 30" TV., so I'm acutally really happy with it's the size.
But this TV isn't perfect and like I said, if there is one thing that bugs me, it's the lack of sound, or richness of sound. the way the speakers are mounted, (internally), the sound is not that great. It's still decent and most people probably can't tell, but for me, the sound lacked options, like bass, treble, and midtones. But this is a real minor inconvenience because if I really wanted good sound, I'd fork over for a sound system. Also, though video games look real good on the TV, especially for the HD supported Xbox games, it bugged me that it takes some time to change to video mode. though it really only takes one and a half-seconds, I was really used to not waiting at all. But this too is just a minor incovenience.
Overall, I'm really satisfied with this television. The value is really hard to beat and if you could find a better deal for a qualtiy HDTV of this size, take it. Otherwise, just go out to your local electronic store, look at the TV and see for yourself the quality of the TV. Plus, since this TV is CRT, the quality of the picture will degrade a lot slower than those of plasmas or LCD, which is good because when Plasma and LCD technology becomes better and cheaper, you can finally buy those TV's without feeling ripped off a year later.Updated
I forgot to mention that I have had this TV for a month and for that one month, I have been completly statisfied. Sure there are some warping issues, but for me the problems are real minor, and I don't notice them unless I try to see them. But I must admit though that I don't use digital cable so I can't tell you if the HDMI problems exist. For that, I think it's best to ask the electronic store for an example or demo of the HDMI port.
