Pros: The Tv has a very clear picture, and the option to turn off the speakers is something I've always found quite useful in a tv. The sheer amount of options as well make this tv pretty nice.
Cons: While I praised the tv above, I must point out a few flaws that deteer from your enjoyment of this tv. For one, the verticle compression mode I found is not worth the money or the option. It squeezes the screen too much and makes the picture look unwatcha

"Good but Toshiba is better!" on
Pros: I was anxious about this Sony Wega. (I had a German made Lowe tv set before) After setting up the Sony and connecting to my dvd player, I was impressed.
Cons: A neighbor who happened to also purchase a new Toshiba tv set showed me his results, I thought maybe I should have got the Toshiba. To me, it was slightly better when viewing dvds in the Toshiba's dynamic mode compared to Sony's dynamic mode. I wished

"Constant Failues after 4 months" on
Summary: I purchased this TV last July. The TV worked very well at first, but failed shortly after Sony's 100% coverage warranty expired. All parts are covered for a year, but I have paid over $200 in labor to get it fixed. The TV, brand new cost me $480. I am convinced my set was a lemon from the get go. I have a Daewoo I bought for a $100 2 years ago and have never had a problem. I expected alot from my Sony and the only thing it has delivered has been headaches and bills.

"Great picture but disppointed by a color discoloration" on
Summary: Around the vertical edges of the screen there is a pink discoloration. This is not really not noticeable unless the screen is white.

"terrible high frequency hum - great picture" on
Summary: Terrific picture quality, nice features, 16:9 mode, price is reasonable compared to compitition. Unfortunately, I have exchanged this set twice, and so far every set has a loud high frequency hum/noise. This noise continues after startup and does not go away, you can even hear it with the stereo pumped up. The noise causes ringing in our ears for 30 minutes after shutting down the TV. Perhaps the store I bought it from received a bad batch of TVs. For this reason, I cannot recommend this TV. Buy this TV from a store with a good exchange policy just in case, otherwise I would recommend you look else where.
