A host of video-enhancement features help this little Sony deliver an excellent video image right out of the box, something that cannot be said for any of the other 24-inch TVs that we've recently reviewed. Our measurements showed that this model's factory settings were fairly accurate, though colors shifted toward blue as light output increased and contrast was too high. After the set was adjusted, the image was bright and clean, with very good detail and dimensionality. We especially liked that the KV-FV300 gives you the option to disable scan-velocity modulation, a circuit that can introduce overly sharp lines to the picture. The KV-24FV300 is pricey enough to get you into the 27-inch level, but for flat-screen sets at this size, it sets a high standard.
