  • "Crap So Far"

Pros Not Much, it does not work well AT ALL!

Cons Had this machine about a week and it cleans like crap.I just wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this machine. I am fighting with Home Depot to get my money back.

  • "LG diswasher is JUNK"
    on by JiminyCricket474

Pros Looks good on the outside

Cons Dishwasher started leaking from vent in bottom of door.

Summary 2 year old dishwasher, started leaking from vent in bottom of door. Spent $150 on repair-didn't fix it. Called LG. They were confrontational and rude when I asked them to reimburse me. (The repairman had told me that LG had issued a repair bulletin about this leaking due to a design flaw, and that it was issued even before I bought the dishwasher). They finally told me they could pay for the parts (about $20). This was a lie. They never paid. I threw the LG out and replaced it with a Whirlpool. I will never buy any kind of LG product ever again.

    BUYER BEWARE.

  • "Not happy with LG"
    on by Slammy19

    Pros Fairly quiet

    Cons LG service is poor.

Summary I used to think LG was good too, but this machine is less than 3 years old and lost power during a cycle, now I got nothing - not even an error message. Even if you're no longer under warranty and want to cut your ties to LG, forget it. If you have a favourite technician that you know and trust, forget about calling him, because he can't get parts -- LG forces you to use one of their authorized service companies, who have so far been decidedly unhelpful in setting up an appointment, and get very mixed reviews on line. Avoid LG.

  • "Don't buy this LG dishwasher it's the worst thing ever!"
    on by mark71sc

    Pros It looks good

Cons Not dependable at less than 16 months we are on our third major repair. It does not clean well and the lower rack has the worst design. It is most difficult to push in. I believe we'll pay more in repairs than we paid for the dishwasher.

Summary I wish I could use a NEGATIVE Star for this! We purchased an LG LDS4821 24 in. built-in Dishwasher thinking LG products are great. We were wrong, don't buy one! We are SO disappointed. It doesn't clean well and the bottom tray is the MOST difficult to push in. At 14 months it quit working for $75 the tech adjusted the wires and said to call back when in breaks again. LG won't allow replace the computer on the first visit. About two weeks later if failed again and cost an additional $75 to have the tech replace the computer board. So far it cost $150 in labor and about five weeks later it quit again. I am paid $60 for labor this time through a home warranty I bought JUST BECAUSE I have this LG. When the third break down occurred I used the warranty. The first shop said they will NOT work on LG. We've been without a dishwasher for nearly two weeks (over THANKSGIVING! One would expect more from a $650 dishwasher. With taxes, the unit and constant repairs we've spent over $900 plus a $500 home warranty. DON'T BUY ONE! Based on my experience here the bottom line for me is never buying an LG product!
Before you buy one, really give it a work over in the store. Check the product on the web!

  • "Just Decent"
    on by snow_goer

Pros Pretty, fairly quiet, cleans great on pot scrubber mode.

Cons Pot scrubber mode is ridiculously long, Poor rack design, normal clean mode doesn?t clean, too pricey (I paid $1000 Canadian)

Summary I have owned this thing for about a year now, before i bought it I was pro LG. Now I'm not sure that I would go with this brand again. The nice thing about this dishwasher is it's looks, and it is moderately quiet, but I have heard quieter machines. I have owned a few dishwashers in the past recent years and this one was buy far the most expensive and does the worst job on cleaning.
If by some unknown reason you leave a small bit of food on your dirty dishes before you load them. This machine will tend to chop it up into fine particles and throw them all over the other dishes. (orange juice pulp is the worst.)
I have also noticed that for some reason it seems to scratch our glasses and plates. (we use liquid soap)
At least one piece of cutlery seems to come out dirty every time. (we?ve even tried stacking the dishwasher exactly like the instructions say to)
If you over fill the soap dispenser the dishwasher will leave your dishes cloudy. (this is a user error but I find that it is easily over filled and happens often)
The rack system is terrible. I have never had so much trouble loading a machine in my life. We have Denby dishes, which are quite popular and fairly standard in size so I don?t understand why these racks are designed so terribly. I guess you have to go to the next model to get decent racks. For the price that I paid I should be able to pick and choose racks of my choice.

On a positive note, we found that the dishes seem to come out spotless if you use the pot scrubber mode.

Other models I have owned are a $400 Maytag and a $350 Kenmore, these machines were louder in comparison but cleaned and stacked perfectly.
