Say hello to the Samsung Chef Collection Dishwasher
Samsung debuted its new "Chef Collection" suite of kitchen appliances this week at CES, including the DW80H9970 dishwasher. With a sleek, stainless steel finish and reinvented washing mechanics, it's looking like a dishwasher worth keeping an eye on in 2014.
The Chef Collection dishwasher's marquee feature is "WaterWall," which Samsung is hailing as an entirely new approach to cleaning. Instead of a revolving circle of jets, WaterWall uses -- you guessed it -- a linear wall of water which sweeps back and forth during the wash cycle. Samsung calls this corner-to-corner cleaning, and claims that it's simply a better way to get your pots and pans spic and span.
The Chef Collection dishwasher's other features include a cutlery rack with a removable rubber lining for easy unloading, customizable zone cleaning, and an LED display on the front that disappears into the stainless steel when not in use. This display seems especially nifty, as it keeps the user informed about the status of the cycle without compromising the washer's built-to-blend-in design.
Aside from the dishwasher, Samsung's Chef Collection features a refrigerator, a slide-in range, and a microwave. The suite's official release date hasn't been locked down yet, but consumers should expect to see it sometime in the first half of 2014.
