Pros It doesn't burst into flames
Cons Lack of useful connections
Summary What kind of expansion base gives you connections to connect your laptop to a TV... but not a flat screen monitor?
An atrocious product.
Pros Easy to use, great sound
Cons Some missing connections
Summary Overall the base fufills my requirements for enhancing the operation of my HP laptop. It is pricy and missing one or two connections (i.e. serial and monitor) but overall makes my laptop function like a desktop unit when mounted. Havine the ability to mount a large capacity hard drive in the base and saves clutter.

Pros Rugged construction, various connections & features
Cons Price is a bit high but...
Summary The expansion base easily made my HP Pavilion zd8060us notebook feel more like a desktop system. It takes absolutely no time to setup or remove the notebook from the base. Although the price was high for the expansion base, the connections and added features, along with the wireless keyboard and mouse make this a worthwhile purchase.

Pros adjusts laptop for correct viewing, attach one plug to access all peripherals-all usb, ethernet, phone, etc plug ins work well
Cons Failed once but HP replaced it quickly. Can no longer find an axillary hard drive for the bay.
Summary I like the look and function of this base. Why HP makes these then abandons them is a mystery to me. With an upgraded hard drive for the bay I would be happy as a clam. I like the compactness. When I travel, I just unplug the one plug to take the laptop with me. I have an extra cord so everything on my desk stays the same-no stretching, bending into a pretzel, or crawling, to attach or detach cords.I have had this base for 5 years and hope to use it with my next laptop.

Pros Elevates screen to eye level. Better sound.
Cons My infrared keyboard and mouse stopped working after less than two years so now the $250 expansion base is useless. I could have purchased an IBM product with a three year warranty but chose HO instead. What a disappointment!
