"Hope You Don't Want to Use a Monitor"
Pros: It doesn't burst into flames
Cons: Lack of useful connections
Summary: What kind of expansion base gives you connections to connect your laptop to a TV... but not a flat screen monitor?
An atrocious product.

You do realize that there is a perfectly good VGA port on the side of all modern notebooks in the last couple of years? This includes HP laptops. In fact, you must have seen it because on HP laptops, it's right beside the Expansion port!
That's the reason the dock doesn't include one. You have to connect it directly to the laptop. -
One of the beauties of having a docking station is that you can hook up a larger second monitor and have two active screens. Not having this port is a serious deficiency. I unfortunatley found this out (from reading this comment) after ordering, but I intend to send it back unopened!

im not sure but i would be willing to bet hp/compaq doesnt make a notebook without a vga connector.
you ca neasily connect an extra monitor to your laptop
