Manufacturer description
Has this ever happened to you? Ever forgotten to email office files to yourself and therefore couldn't use them at home? Been on an airplane with no Internet connection available for accessing your data? BeInSync enables you to seamlessly access and use your latest data anytime, anywhere - at the office, from home or on the go. Using innovative Secure Peer-to-Peer technology that automatically synchronizes all your devices (home PC, office PC, laptop), BeInSync ensures that wherever you go, your data will follow. Simply install BeInSync on each of your PCs, choose what you'd like to synchronize (your files, desktop, emails, contacts or Internet favorites) and you're ready to go. From now on, any change made on one PC will automatically be reflected on your other PCs. And what's more, you can easily share data with others. Simply create 'Shares' and invite others to join these shares. Any file added to a share will automatically be synchronized among all the share's participants.User opinions

Avoid. Backup works sometimes. Restore works sometimes.
Pros: Only if you travel and use other computers would you need to back up your USB drive to BeInsync. Otherwise, back up your USB drive to your own computer. It's cheaper and will actually work.
Cons: Backup is slow and does not always work. Restore is stow and does not always work.

Beinsync is idiosync-ratic
Pros: handles network & intermittently connected drives. does not stall on conflicts. foldershare has a problem with these.
Cons: trial version very erratic ... sometimes works, sometimes not. tech support response time measured in days (sometimes several). only canned responses for the most part. interface is confusing. hard to understand symbols, msgs ...

Doesn't work, asked for refund
Pros: None at all
Cons: Spent hours configuring, updating, etc., but never got it to work
In addition, the interface has all kinds of unexplained items: red vs blue rectangles; pink-or-white-or-blue backgrounds for the file names; a column called "Rank" that has stars in it, etc., etc. And recently, the logo started blinking! Why? Who knows? You can dig around in the help file, but it doesn't even have an index or search function, and when you finally find an item the explanation is inadequate. Don't they know about context help and right clicks?
I am about to request a refund from the company. Wish me luck, please.
