"It just keeps getting better..."
Pros: Integrated PDF Create!, FormTyper, ability to define scanning profiles
Cons: Text added to PDFs does not remain with the document if you email it
Summary: I have been using PaperPort since, well, I can't remember how long. They only version I NEVER used was 9. Way too buggy. This my 1st pro version and I will never go back to the "home" version again.
I would recommend this software to anyone who wants to go "paperless". You can scan as a PaperPort or PDF file right out of the box and convert and/or save it as just about anything you want. With the ability to define scanning profiles, you can scan as other file types if you prefer. You can scan in color, black & white or grayscale.
With PDF Create!, if you can print from a piece of software, you can create a PDF file.
As for the con of losing text added to a PDF file via PaperPort, I have learned to add the text, save as a tif then convert back to a PDF and VOILA! You have an emailable PDF with the additional text firmly in place.
For those of you running Vista, there is even a version for your OS.
For digital document management, this is the best I have ever used.
