"Buggy, terrible support, miserable upgrade policy."
Pros: Purchased because end-user had been using an oldver version, which minimized the learning curve.
Cons: Purchased v11 for full price. Had problems from day one. Version 12 was released shortly after purchase, was told we had to shell out another $99 for the 'upgrade', even though it had only been a few weeks and no fixed had been released for v11.
Summary: Horrible support. Purchased 11 and found out that it has problems saving files in folders with more than 1,000 files. The software pops up a warning that actually says 'There are more than 1,000 files in the folder' (as though that should be a concern for any modern computer), then hangs. No patches on their website, tech support is no help and difficult to understand. They suggested I 'upgrade' to 12, even though the product never worked, and the person on the phone couldn't even verify if v12 issues the same warning for folders with > 1,000 files.
We're going to switch to another product. Nuance apparently has no interest in supporting their existing customers, so we are switching to a competitor's product.
