    "Extremely disappointing.. Max DVD burn speed is 4X"

    Pros: Rips DVDs extremely well

    Cons: 16X claimed DVD burn speed is pure fiction

    Summary: I specified my new system with a PX712A based on Plextor's reputation and some good reviews. My experience is that the drive performs no better than my 4 year old Sony 4X drive for DVD burning, which I do a LOT of. I tried several premium brands including Verbatim 16X... none would burn DVDs reliably at more than 4X. Don't waste your money on this one.
