    "Burning to bluray Disc"

0.5 stars  | on by guylakewals

    Pros

Burns great to dvd5 and dvd9 for avchd or dvd. Forget the blu-ray Discs wast of money unless HP has a fix whiich I havenot been able to find anywhere.

    Cons

Make a lot of bad blu-ray discs unusable expensive. It will burn a disc 1 out of 5. The other 4 are useless it try to start the burn than says burn to disc failed and makes the disc useless.

    Summary

Buy a Lite -On or Pioneer they support there products. I would take this one back if I had know sooner that it would not have been supported by HP. Wasted $139.00. and about $100.00 in discs that are now useless.

    "Complete waste of money"

    0.5 stars  | on by mwalker87015

    Pros

Software package is useful. Easy PnP installation.

    Cons

ZERO support available from HP, despite the manufacturing and marketing - not even a driver available! LightScribe feature does not work on either DVD or CD media.

    Summary

This is a completely unreliable drive and a total waste of money. With a $130 sale price, I thought I was getting a good deal on a CD/DVD/Blu-Ray burner with LightScribe technology. Regretfully, this was far from the case. IF you have the time and patience to search, ... Read full review

This is a completely unreliable drive and a total waste of money. With a $130 sale price, I thought I was getting a good deal on a CD/DVD/Blu-Ray burner with LightScribe technology. Regretfully, this was far from the case. IF you have the time and patience to search, you can find the user manual on the HP website. However, do not waste your time trying to locate drivers or firmware updates. They do not exist. HP used to have a good reputation, and I used to be a loyal customer. Due to multiple negative (and costly) experiences with HP products and "customer service," they have successfully ruined their reputation with me.

"HP Blu-Ray Writer Has Many Issues"

1.5 stars  | on by Netteligent

    Pros

I bought my HP laptop with HDMI in 2009 with similar problem. Now it is better. Nothing except Blu-Ray writer did not work.

    Cons

HP Product Managers should test its products as users before release to market. I ended up to return twice in 3 months.

    Summary

If you find a reliable Blue-Ray writer, please let us know.
