has issues from outset - specifically on 4-5 year old Acer Aspire SA90 - wont play DVD movies without stuttering - firmware update fixed that only too find wont boot from disk at power on - no response from drive

Price Price Price. You can't beat the price especially for such a high end brand. It plays and records just about everything except bluray.

Price just right if you need just a basic drive for a new computer or you are replacing an old one. Lightscibe is also a nice touch. Gives discs a much more professional look.
