"Good when it works" on by smash
Pros: Worked like a charm.. for a while
Cons: Broke down twice in under two years
Summary: First of all this burner is great - fast etc when it works, but I had to send mine in for repairs once [wouldn't finalize DVD-Rs].. and now it broke down again - it burns, but doesn't read the DVDs!!! Broke down in two years, yea I think that's a pretty low quality product

Pros: Does everything it should do [I never needed a volume knob & earphone jack anyway]. Burned GREAT for 5 months [didn't screw up a single DVD-R in my recollection at 4x speed]. I backed up over 50 DVDs on it with no problems. Good speed & very relia
Cons: Broke down after 5 months. Sent for repairs and awaiting a replacement [so far, customer service was very friendly unlike Sony's].

Cons: originally it burned RW discs very slowly but this has been fixed by Pioneer. No plug in for ear phone

"Works 4 Me" on
Pros: I'm runnin ME on an ASUS PpS533 with 512Meg SDDR and after reading t5he previous ratings went ahead and reloaded ME and then Loaded Roxio DVD Creator 6. I heard the the Pioneer had a problem with DVD-RW and had to reburn 1 RW disc but it works and CompUS
Cons: Had to burn the first DVD-RW twice but overall as long as you don't use the software that comes with it then it works great. Costco had ROXIO Creator 6 for $69.99 with a $20 rebate.
