Pros: Worked for about 6 months
Cons: Died with little to no real use
Summary: I was wondering why the drive was making a knocking sound when I put a disc in. Come to find out the thing was broken. I bought it to burn a DVD, and it did that fine. 6 months later ( TODAY! ) I go to burn another dvd and it doesnt work. It will not read anything I put in it. I tried updating the firmware, but that didnt help at all.
What a waste of money. -

Pros: well all i read at time i purchased was good
Cons: loud will not read most of time took 2 weeks to get it back under warranty still does not work most of time and still knocks and has bearing noise and no warranty any only 14 months old

Pros: Flawlessly writes DVD's for PC use. Backup files with ease.
Cons: Backups on any other platform or PC may be unreadable.

Pros: When it works it's ok
Cons: It doesn't see the movie or the blank media when i put it in and everything looks correct on the device properties reporting no problems. One second it works fine the next it doesn't work?

"Extremely functional external drive" on
Pros: I can take it from one computer to another. I've used it in the car with my laptop and a targus power supply.
Cons: Cost, at least when I bought it when it first came out. If you don't need the external version, save the bucks.
