Cons analog only...old style videos will transfer, very hard to use with a pc. you cannot hook it up to the pc and the vcr or camcorder at the same time..it defaults to the pc every time. good thing I can return it.

Does not work in stand alone mode. Sony tech told me Sync mode was not enabled at the factory. Manual mode stops recording if it loses input signal (i.e. blank spot on tape). Sony tech assured me firmware update is inthe works. I really like the drive it would be better if they fix th firmware and added Light scribe.
