"Got it for free; not worth much more than that"
Pros: Cheap (at least it was for me); plays acceptably; small size; OK setup
Cons: Scanning back/forth infuriating; doesn't display subtitles properly; lousy remote
Summary: I got this player as a freebie from Office Depot. I wouldn't have paid much more than ten bucks for it, if that. It plays acceptably enough, at least on the small TV I use it with. But scanning back and forth is tedious and sometimes infuriating, as you try to get to a specific spot. The remote control has lousy range (three feet!) in a lighted room, and is simply buttons of the same size/color that have been stuck onto a box, there was no apparent attempt to group buttons or make it easy to use. But worst of all, it doesn't display subtitles properly. It misses some of them for no apparent reason (you just see a flash where the subtitles should be). In short: free was about the right price.
