"Cheap region free player"
Pros: region free, cheap, reliable
Cons: no DTS sound, no DivX
Summary: When my rjtech region-free player broke after several years (and man that was a versitile player!) I decided to look for a cheap replacement. Since it appears that the famous little cyberhome DVD players have vanished from the market I researched other budget made-in-china DVD players and found this little beaut. It's not region free out of the box but pretty simple to set (with no disk and from the remote turn it off and on, open the tray, press 9735, and select the region with the up and down arrows) and while it doesn't look impressive sitting on my bookshelf it pretty much does the job. The manual implies that it plays VCDs but I haven't tested this yet. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to jump from one part of the disk to another (like from the menu to the movie) and the only audio is RCA left and right, but it has componant, composite, and S-Video and plays just fine on my little 13" magnavox. I reccomend this to anyone needing a quick fix for their international DVD viewing needs.
