Description: The Philips DVP3982/37 is a default, budget DVD player.Compared to other budget DVD players on the market, it is midpriced at around $50.

Pros: This DVD player is equipped with a progressive scanning feature, capable of delivering higher-quality video images to compatible televisions.This unit will hold multiple disks -- great for really long movies or an entire season of your favorite TV show.Capable of playing multiple types of recordable and rewritable discs, this unit can handle more types of media that most DVD players.This player is relatively slim at a height of 1.5 in.Like most other DVD players, this unit features JPEG playback, which allows you to view digital photos (stored on a CD) on your television.

Cons: This player lacks DTS output capability, so it will not play back DTS soundtracks.

Suitability: A budget DVD player, suited for watching movies and/ or listening to music.

Value: Overall, this DVD player has good features for the money.
