"Malfunction-an exception, I hope"
Summary: Brought my player online about 8 months ago from BroadwayComputer&Video ($158). Pleased with overall quality and look (small and sleek black casing), not technically savvy about specs/features. Setup is user-friendly and the DVD initially operated fine. After about 6 months, the player malfunctioned although I had not used it extensively. A video in play was ejected and thereafter the DVD would play videos. Under the warrantee, there is not an option to return the player to the manufacturer. Also, service from a local repair shop may require special authorization if the seller is not listed as an "authorized" online dealer by Pioneer (an unnecessary inconvenience). So far, it has been a week and the repair to my DVD has not been completed.
