"Sony Comes Through Again"
Pros: Picture quality considerably better then regular DVD
Cons: None so far
Summary: I got tired of waiting for this player to come out, so on Labor Day, I went to Best Buy and purchased an LG upconvert DVD player. Bright pictures on the LG were better, but I found the darker pictures to be very grainy. Also, the audio didn't seem to sync with the video when using the optic cable connected to my surround sound. A week after purchasing the LG I received an email from Circuit City saying that the Sony was in stock. I purchased it online and proceeded to my local CC to pick it up, and apparently each store is only getting two at a time, so if you want one you better hurry. The picture quality was better right from the get go, lights and darks, and no problem with the audio sync. I have always felt that you can't go wrong with Sony, and this player proves it again. The picture quality is not the same as an HD broadcast, but it comes darn close, and at $139.99 this player is a bargain. If you want better DVD pictures for your HDTV run out and buy the DVP-NS70H.
