"it DOES have aspect ratio control"
Pros: everything!
Cons: sometimes it lags when switching between layers (quick pause, sometimes up to 2 seconds)
Summary: I thought it didn't have any aspect ratio control, either, until I got frustrated because I just got an Olevia 32" LCD TV, and I thought the 16:9 view on my TV looked liked a horizontally stretched image of the 4:3 view. After some investigation, it turns out that if you press Display once (first menu), then go to the bottom option, then pick CUSTOM (make sure you've stopped your DVD viewing), you'll be taken to the screen where you can tell the DVD player whether you have a 4:3 screen or a 16:9 screen. Now, I can watch Disney DVDs with NO BLACK BARS!
