"Don't bother with Blu Ray or HD DVD yet" on by cdproperties
Pros: Excellent Picture, Lots of options to fine tune visuals
Cons: Had to take the first unit back because hdmi jack was dead
Summary: I read the other 2 reviews and was impressed and also like the other guy I also have a Samsung DLP tv and if it work beautifully on his then it probably would work great on mine. I was initially very upset because the unit I got from circuit city did not work on my tv hooked up thru the hdmi jack. I took it back and got another unit from Best Buy at the same price (138 w/ tax). I hooked this one up, turned it on and my jaw dropped. I was one of those that was beginning to think that HD upscaling was an urban legend. I watched Shawshank Redemption and it was stunning. What even shocked me more was when I hit the info button on my tv to see the time (keep in mind my tv is the HLR 6167 720p) the display read 1920 x 1080i. This machine is by far the best I've ever encountered. I also tried the Samsung HD 860 and it was barely better than watching dvds on my xbox and then the sound went out. Definitely the Sony DVP ns75h is a must have. Just get one with an hdmi jack that actually works. You won't be disappointed.

Do the HDMI cables come with the DVD player (i.e. included in the price).

I was looking at the Sammy version since I have a Samsung tv too, but after this I might give the Sony a try.

u got 1080i on screen because DVD player's scaler changed 480p movie to 1080i output format. It doesn't mean you are actually getting HD content.
