Cons No HDMI connection, no optical
Summary I bought this little player as an additional veiwing choice for a rental condo I own at a price that won't break the bank. While not world class by any means, it does offer better build quality than many similiarly priced products and it provides decent picture thru component video and analog outputs. I wish it had an optical output for sound - or better yet, HDMI for both video and sound but that is a lot to ask for a low-priced player. Bottom line - this is a good choice for guest bedrooms or other non-primary uses but I would never recomend this as a primary player for anyone except those with very limited resources.

Summary Found this on eclickdeals.com for $37.99. Received as scheduled. My old product had HDMI, this one was missing, but using component video output instead. As it is from Sony, no more to mention on the quality.

Cons don't work
Summary I received my dvd player in the mail today. I decided to test this machine out before i gave it as a xmas gift and i'm so glad i did or i would have been extremely embarrassed. I put in a standard dvd in the dvd player and it played for 12 mins before the machine froze up. I then had to unplug the machine and wait 10mins before plugging it back in. I decided to try another dvd which only worked for 2 secs before it froze again. Now i'm in the process of trying to get my dvd out of the machine. And i have tried unplugging it over and over again and i still can't get it out.
I wanted a dvd that wasn't fancy and for 45 dollars i thought that would be great. Just because this project is on the cheaper side doesn't give them the right to make something worthless. Don't buy this project, it will be a waste of your time, you'll just end up having to take it back. -

Summary Bought this dvd player today and hooked it up when i got home. Inserted a disk, machine made some noises for a bit and then a "disk cannot be played" error message on screen. Tried a different dvd, and then another, and then another... all with the same result.
JUNK. Thanks Sony. -

Cons Freezes after a couple of hours of play time. And now after a mere 3 months of use, the disks won't load! The disk tray is caught in a continuous loop of open and close.
Summary This product is not worth the Sony name nor your hard-earned money! I should have bought a Magnavox . . . I was suckered in by the Sony branding!
