"Sony RDR GXD455 DVD HD Recorder"
Pros: This player/recorder has an HD tuner built in. This enables you to be able to record off the air digital or non protected cable or satellite HD programs. Great resolution and plenty of recording modes, including VR. Easy to use and program.
Cons: Not built like the older heavier, metal encased GX7.
Summary: I bought this when our older GX7 started to miss the programming times.
No real cons!!!!
The resolution is much better on this model over previous models. the pass though of HD signal to our 46XBR4 is stunning. We also use a DVDO VP50 and we have no complaints, and I recommend it highly.
Make certain to read through the manual, keeping your sharpness to a nminimum.
Invest in Avia, a detailed TV and Home theater setup DVD. It's about $30-$40 dolars. That will be an invaluable tool for setting up any of your TVs or your neighborso r family! Ask to get paid! :-)
Those folks that have problems, need to purchase a setup DVD as I mentioned above. Take your time adjust both the player and your TV and you will get excellent eye-popping results.
