Great dvd recorder
Pros: Reliable, easy-to-use, excellent picture

A great recorder. Have had since 12/2006 and has been 100% reliable with 50+ dvd's recorded. Has 6 modes, 1/2/4/6/8/10 hour, first three modes have excellent picture quality. easy to set timer recordings. very quiet, no fan, faint clicking noise. records only to -R/-RW discs but will play +R/+RW. this model does not have lots of features but never fails on recording or with the timer. consumer reports gave it a best buy rating and i would rate it highly as well.

Great DVD recorder

I think this is a great little dvd recorder. As a college student, I have very little space and this is a very compact design (it is only 10 inches deep). The only complaints that I have about it are that it only burns DVD-R and DVD-RWs (NO DVD+R/W). While there is a coaxial output, it does not send out the video on ch. 3 or 4 like a VCR but sends out the same cable that is coming in. In other words, you have to use the component, RCA or S-Video to watch the DVD. One really nice thing about it is the that there are 6 recording modes/qualities that allow you to record in 1,2,4,6,8,or 10 hour time periods. Also there is no volume control on this unit.

on it when you make a dvd it will make the scenes to go to ever 10 mins but i would tell it to make the scenes ever 5 mins so you get more scene to go to but if it like 30 mins 6 scenes for ever 5 mins but if it 33 mins it 7 scenes 5 mins for ever scenes but for the 3 mins to make it 33 mins that one more scene for the 3 mins to make it 33 mins and you can not name what it is on the dvd it name it for you
