Summary: Big disappointment that this unit won't play CD-R's properly. For this money I expected full functionality. Wish I'd read these reviews before I bought this thing.

"Broke after viewing 40 DVDS" on
Summary: The DVD player can not track the DVD's. It will start a movie and gets stuck at about 115 minutes. Cleaning head did not help this problem. Overheats after an hour of movie time. Don't waste your money on this lemon.

Summary: I bought this in the fall of 2001 and have been enjoying it since. This is a great player. Although Toshiba says this player does not support CD-R's, I have tried it with many discs and have found that TDK;s 700MB (80min.) discs work fine. I also use Acoustica's MP3 CD burner. I have also had a chance to play games on it, thanks to bestbuy,com's $0.99 sale on some of the games. Anyway, this is altogether a great player and it is sad to see that NUON is not as popular as it should be. I hope it stays.

Summary: I had to take this back. My old CD player, purchased in 1988 could play my CD-Rs why would Toshiba intentionally cripple it's equipment?
