"Good cheep dual format DVD recorder"
Pros: Cheep, ease of operation, burns +R, and -R disks even though the box and manual says otherwise.
Cons: First the Manuel stinks, vauge if you will. Also with out good AV cables you might get a hiss in the audio, audio could be better but for the price what can you say.
Summary: This recorder is really small and lite but don't let the outside fool you it has plenty to offer from such a small exterior. Burns +R,-R,+RW, and -RW. It can be particular about the type of media it will accept but I personally have only had a couple instances where this was an issue. have used from top of the line disks down to the cheeper Office Max disks made in india without a glitch. there are multiple imputs that will allow you to hook up a vcr,dvd player, camcorder, all at once if you chose. I primarily bought it to convert VHS to DVD but I have to admit I never thought I would find such an inexpensive yet good quality in a recorder as I have with the Cyberhome 1600. great buy for those on a budget or even if your not.

Our church got ours free when we bought a 32 plazma TV. We have hooked our camera to it and recorded services to it in real time. Very nice in that at the end of service I have a DVD to copy and hand out. No waiting for another hour or more, to copy to pc and then burn. Easy to set up, the menu could be easier, but once you have been thru it a few times, it's not bad. All in all it works very well. I would have paid a $100 for it, even if we had not gotten it free.
