"Systemic errors in E55"
Pros: The Price is reasonable
Cons: Defective Finalizations
Summary: We bought about a dozen for our business, Dub King Video. We find consistant, although they would occasionally work, errors during finalization. When finished, the menus display only partially.
While the discs still work, the opening menu looks horribly defective.
We do transfers by the hundreds and have called panasonic. They say blah blah blah (after 52:00 on hold), take them in and have a technician check them out.... We have 12 and they all do the same thing. (Intermittantly, by the way.)
We worked around the problem by telling the disc to "play first title" instead of "play menu". That way our customers never see the lousy menu unless they do it on purpose.
It's regretfull that we will have to wait years to amortize $6,000.00 worth of dvd recorders before we can choose new models.
You can be sure it won't be panasonic for us.
