"CNET wrong w/ DVD technologies"
Pros: CNet is wrong about DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW. +R is readable on ALL dvd players. -R is readable only on new dvd players.

Pros: Inexpensive, simple to set up, Good player with progressive scan, ILINK. Good support from Gateway. When it records well, it works fine but....
Cons: I got frustrated with disks that failed to finalize. Also it appears if you play the disk without finalizing it, it won't finalize and play well after. Basically, lower end machine with about 60% of disks burning well. The other 40% make ok coasters. Also

Pros: i was thinking about getting a tivo but i saw this instead i love it no 299.99 life time fee or 12.95 a month fee does basic recording tought it would take forever to format a disk or erase it but guess what it does not im happy with it u should buy it i

Pros: I can record on DVD!...Picture is great on every recording mode but 6hr...Dvd+r and +rw both worked in my other DVD player and my computer....started successfully transfering my VHS collection to DVD!
Cons: No editing features.....you cant create your own chapters....the recorder automaticly does it for you during recording...6 hr recording is not good...set up could be easier.
