"Terrible service and support."
Pros: Performed well when it worked.
Cons: Stopped reading disks after 6 months. Gateway replaced the unit but did not send me a power cord or remote control. It has been over 3 months and they still have not sent a power cord to me, so I have no DVR and no way to check if the replaced unit work

I purchased this product directly from a Gateway store in Dec 2003 based on product reviews and the store provided service which is important to me.
The stores were closed during the spring of 2004. Now, July 2005 the DVD has quit reading anything I put in it. I've emailed back and forth with Gateway and they are telling me since its out of warranty, they have NO SERVICE for this. I am willing to pay. I just want it fixed. But, they are telling me that there is no service available for it.
Now what?
Boy, I'd think 10 times before I ever bought anything from a company like this.
