Except for the fact that it can record only on DVD+R/RW media (not on DVD-R/RW, too), the LVW-5001 is otherwise identical to its step-up model, the LVW-5005. It should offer nearly identical performance. (The LVW-5001 is also sold, with minor cosmetic and branding changes, as the Gateway AR-230.)
