"User friendly consumer grade DVD recorder"
Pros: Easy intuitive menu flow for programing
Cons: If you are new to DVD recording you can be intimidated by the process. DVD recordings in LP speed do not always playback in other DVD players. Test this out before you make a recording.
Summary: Overall this recorder is a decent unit. Nothing fancy but for daily broadcast recording it gets the job done. The remote is easy to follow and the on-screen menus are clear and simple to follow. If you are new to using a DVD recorder you should have someone with experience show you the basics.
If you are under age 30 you should have no problems. The manual is documented with simple to follow instructions. The key is just do not think to hard. Go with the flow.
Just remember the two most important rules of DVD: FORMAT and FINALIZE

The comment about being under thirty shows the stupidity of the review. I'm 54 and I help "under 30's" all the tine with tech questions. Doesn't CNET read these reviews?
