"Not good for playing DVD rentals"
Pros: Uses DVD+R/RW
Cons: Unreliable playback of pre-recorded DVDs. Fan on all the time. Guide Plus required for the recorder to operate the cable box.

"Great unit for the price it can be found for."
Pros: Bought a re-furb of this unit for $130.00 on ebay despite some reservations, having read some poor reviews. I had a few problems burning to +R media, which disappeared immediately upon switching to RW. I use memorex and have had no problems. The manual is
Cons: Had to use +RW media. Fan stays on.

"great price, versatile unit, buy! buy! buy!"
Pros: full set of features covers almost all media almost 8.5 hours on one disk two inputs, two outputs zoom
Cons: manual, manual, manual, it's useless. view unit as a computer running win98, quirky. most important only recommended media. preferably RW's
