Pros Easy to use, multiple formats, editing
Cons Lacks output connectivity
Summary I bought this DVD-R because it was a reasonable price and had great features for the price. It seemed from the specs that it had great connectivity and multiple output formats, which I required. However, only one (1) output is actually available, something one doesn't find out until you try using more than one. Once one output is used, the other 2 types are INACTIVE - even the user manual does NOT make this apparent except by a very ambiguous "choose one connection". So the specs don't always tell yu everything you NEED to know!
Pros Good picture quality
Cons lip-sync glitch
Summary Will return the recorder because of a lip-sync glitch, which is pretty annoying and not acceptable. DVD-RAM disk are about 10 times more expensive than DVD-R discs. Finalized DVD Video doesn't work on my Sony DVD player. User menu looks archaic and is not that user friendly. Problem with static: If you record from antenna the static is huge. Date is one day off: i.e. 3/1/06 should be Wed but shows Thur (Did anybody at Samsung test this recorder?). No Chasing Playback available. If you want to play back a DVD it takes the recorder about 30 to load the DVD (do you find this acceptable? I don't
One positive feature is the 15/30 sec skip, which lets you easily skip commercials.
Anyways, this thing goes back to the store, and I might just wait a couple months until the entry-level recorders are ready for prime time

Pros Easy to use, very good quality picture, price
Cons not all dvd-r's are compatible
Summary I bought this one after returning my Phillips recorder. What a difference! The menu was very easy to navigate. I recorded a program as soon as I set it up and finalized in about a minute. Tested on my other players, they played perfectly! I'm very pleased. I recommend reading through the manual first and using the suggested dvd-r.

Pros Easy to use
Cons No support of closed caption
Summary I've been using this last a few months.
This is quite a good product with minor
It does not support closed caption.
I used comcast motorola settop box
and it has only
composite out, which goes into the Line 1
input of this product. Then the DVD recorder
connected to my TV through composite input.
With this connection, the closed caption from
the comcast set top box won't display on TV,
which worked fine without this machine.
I talked to customer service and they even
didnot aware of this problem. This product
is designed in Korea and they didn't put this
function in it since that Korean people
usually does not
use closed caption function.
Besides that, it's quite good product
for the price.
