Pros: Good picture quality

Cons: lip-sync glitch

Summary: Will return the recorder because of a lip-sync glitch, which is pretty annoying and not acceptable. DVD-RAM disk are about 10 times more expensive than DVD-R discs. Finalized DVD Video doesn't work on my Sony DVD player. User menu looks archaic and is not that user friendly. Problem with static: If you record from antenna the static is huge. Date is one day off: i.e. 3/1/06 should be Wed but shows Thur (Did anybody at Samsung test this recorder?). No Chasing Playback available. If you want to play back a DVD it takes the recorder about 30 to load the DVD (do you find this acceptable? I don't
One positive feature is the 15/30 sec skip, which lets you easily skip commercials.
Anyways, this thing goes back to the store, and I might just wait a couple months until the entry-level recorders are ready for prime time
