"a good entry level dvd recorder"
Pros: very easy to operate. good picture and sound from the unit. can record on 3 different formats.
Cons: missins i-link and fiewire inputs.

Pros: 1. Fairly decent output on the recorded disk. Can't vouch for recording anything greater than 3 hours, but I would suspect that the output may be similar to the GX7. 2. Have used +RW and +R with no problems. Haven't had an opportunity to try -R/RW yet
Cons: 1. Thought I had a bad unit at first. Clock shows 0 for the hour instead of 12 regardless if it's 12 am or pm. The time displays correctly in the menu, but not on the front display. Had to go to 3rd tier support (after having to set/reset the clock ma

"Broken right out of the box and missing features."
Pros: Good suite of features. Good picture.
Cons: Sony's web site as of 7/31/04 shows the RDR-GX300 has an iLink interface, but it does not. The unit worked for about an hour and then any disk placed in it gave the error "INVALID DISK." Guess it broke. The unit is very slow to start up. Instructions are
