No Problems Here
Pros: Compact, Sleek, Great Picture, Parental Control!
Cons: Pricey when I bought it, Cable box issues, Remote
We have two boys who like their movies and they've had a pretty easy time using it as well. I REALLY like the parental control it has on the dvd side. They tried to crack it and didn't get through!
I've not had any problems with the unit so far (knock on wood). The picture is great and the sound rocks. I've got surround so that really made a difference.
Only one drawback I've found is that it isn't very compatible with my digital cable box. I can't watch tv without having the unit on. No big deal, but at the same time it is using power and heating up the cabinet. I hope it doesn't affect the lifetime.
Oh, and the remote is not a good setup at all. The buttons are so tiny that I can't find the setup in input buttons sometimes! I'd expect a better remote from Sony...
Overall really good, just little tweaks could have made it a lot better!

Stay far away from this one
Pros: Good picture Quality
Cons: Poor workmanship
I have had this DVD/VCR Combination unit for ten months.
Now the sound has gone out of the DVD player.
Still within the warranty and Sony wants me to pay for the repairs.
A friend of mine also purchased one just like it and the DVD player quit working.
I see a bad pattern starting. Stay away from Sony!
I'm looking for a new one that's not made by Sony.
One of the other reviews was correct, the DVD player does make noise.

Choose Another unit
Pros: Nice looking unit, easy set-up and nice features.
Cons: Noise from DVD mechanism. I just bought this unit and will be returning it. You can hear a faint noise from the Disc spinning when in play mode. This may be OK for a unit that is enclosed in a glass cabinet but it was definitely noticeable on a regular
