"Still on the fence"4.0 starson by PhilM66
Pros: looks vastly improved over the earlier models
Cons: epub not supported so all of my old books are useless unless I use my laptop or repurchase. Still not a fan of the keyboard
Summary: I'm still trying to decide between the Nook & this version of the Kindle. I just sold my faithful Sony reader & regretted it almost instantly! I do need the wifi though as I have been caught on the road with nothing to read! The idea that all my books are now useless unless I get a Nook is very depressing!
One thing I don't get is why all the reviews try to compare the Nook & Kindle with an iPad. Cost aside (and that's a huge aside) the iPad is very heavy & not comfortable for reading at all (I had one & tried it). The backlit screen is no different from any other screen - tiring after a while & the last thing I want to do after a day at work when I want to read a good book is to have to look at another monitor. In my mind these readers are for just that reading, not surfing the web, responding to e-mail or editing documents, etc. Not once did I catch myself licking my fingers in prep for a page turn while reading on the iPad, something I had done with my Sony! I want something small (iPhone is a little too small for reading ) that I can carry with me all the time & use just about anywhere so do I go without EPUB support or go for the larger, slower device?
