Amazon Kindle Keyboard 3G

Pros: Ability to carry volumes of information. Pretty decent music player. Easy to figure out most functionalities with little trouble or direction. Keyboard easy to navigate. Easy to acclimate to 6" screen size. Good price for the 3G WiFi combo.

Cons: Absence of headers; an eReader problem, especially for Bible study. Music player has limited controls; can't arrange tracks. Need to move back button away from the down arrow; too close together and must learn to avoid it. Internet very slow.

Summary: Back cover has been treated or processed with a chemical that caused an allergic reaction. I had to return the unit and after talking with the sales staff at Best Buy Kindle seems to be the best of the breed. I wasn't able to keep the unit longer than 2 weeks to see if the cover would air out due to time restriction on returns. I wasn't able to handle the unit without developing a bad headache, itching eyes, face and other nervous system reactions. Very disappointed that I can't keep it. The back cover had an odor that was milder but similar to the Kindle lighted case. The odor of the case was a strong chemical smell that caused the same immediate allergic reaction. I took that back after 2 days and put the Kindle in a cloth case. After continuing to experience milder reactions each time I used the Kindle, I removed it from the case, handled it extensively and experienced the increased reaction. That's when I sniffed the back rubberized cover and smelled the lighter version of the same odor as the cover. I would have loved to keep it.
