"kindle touch... great for reading"
on by jbd319Pros inexpensive, compact, easy to use, reads pdf files. quite simply, an excellent device for reading while at home or on the road. e-innk is very crisp and easy on the eyes
Cons not back-lit...so if you want to read it..you need a light. no color

"Hard to navigate."
on by writinggalPros Small and lightweight, easy to hold. Reading quality of e-ink is terrific.
Cons Terrible to navigate - have to drill down through multiple menus to find things. I have Amazon Prime and have only found the Amazon Lending Library once! Page turns are fickle, at best. No way that I could find to go back to a specific place.
Summary Would not recommend this, or any Kindle if they're all like this. I'm going to keep it one more week then probably return it and get a Nook. I bought it because of the Amazon content, but it is just not as easy to use or as responsive as it should be. May just go with a Nook tablet.

"Kindle touch."
on by skuf4jPros Like the unit as a book reader and in Wi Fi.
Cons Don't get fooled by the 3G on the touch. If you get out of range with WiFi and get on 3G, you can only go to the Amazon store. No yahoo or Google. I guess that's why it's free. They want you to go to their store and buy something.

"This updated kindle no longer has PDF landscape mode!!!"
on by johneric18Pros Great if you want to read novels... currently not useful if you want it to read PDFs for school or work because there is no landscape mode
Cons no landscape mode
Summary overall a great product... but lacking a key feature older versions of the kindle had... why this feature would be removed is confusing. It makes this updated version of the kindle much less functional for a student.
