  • "Fantastic dedicated ereader"
    on by freestewart

Pros Light and easy to hold.
Touch screen works great and it has a super-fast page refresh.
    Battery is eternal.

Cons Can't read ebooks from Amazon, which means there lots of books you just can't get due to exclusivity deals.
Can't add B&N books via the USB - has to be done over wifi.
The physical page turning buttons are a bit stiff.

Summary The Simple Touch is such a delightfully well made device. It's simple and it works! It's a million times better than the Nook 1st Edition, and I suspect it's much better than the new Kindles.
My only concern is that I may have chosen the losing side in the ebook wars. Three cheers for DRM lock-in!

  • "It exceeded my expectations!"

Pros Small, comfortable, durable and easy to read. First rate service from B&N and the store is always there if you like to browse the physical books rather than strictly shop on line.

Cons Some books don't utilize the entire screen for text.

Summary I bought the Nook in June for my wife's birthday. She is an avid reader and took to the Nook as her first ereader right away. She likes to read while sunning and doesn't have any trouble reading in full, bright sunlight. Unfortunately, after using the Nook for ten months, we couldn't wake it up from its nap yesterday so we took it back to B&N. When I explained the issue to their Nook specialist he tried for just a minute and also could not wake up the little device. Without hesitation (or a receipt) he opened up a brand new Nook, downloaded my wife's library and sent me on my way with the new device fully restored and an extra charger with an apology for my trouble. Thank you B&N, I'm sold!

Pros This is a great ereader.

    Cons No 3G connection.

Summary If 3G access is not a problem for you then this is a good buy.

  • "It is dependable and easy to use."

Pros The page changes are quick and have no problems with freeze-ups like I did with my previous e-reader. The dictionary is handy, the choice of text size and font is good, it is light-weight and durable. I love the fast wi-fi downloads. Even the downloads th

Cons My battery lasts only a few days at best (I use it constantly). They fail to tell you that the dictionary, highlighting, archiving and other perks only work on books purchased from Barnes and Noble. My biggest problem is that books cannot be deleted. I ge

  • "excellent!!!"

Pros hidden web browswer, touchscreen, battery life, grippy, e-ink display, can slide in back pocket without case... PRICE!!

Cons cant complain about anything because the price is so good. if anyone has a problem with this device theyre greedy and cheap...

Summary Barnes and Nobles care about their customers so much they've created the nook touch with android os.. the system have hidden goodies like bluetooth and web browser. why does it have these things and wasnt told to us? IDK! But maybe this will give us an up on the competition; where is the comp? hmm?.. NOOK FAN FOR LIFE!
