"Great if it works, but doesn't for a lot of people"1.5 starson by KyleP15
Pros: Clean lines, easy to read, sleak.
Cons: Faulty product, horrible customer service. Hundreds of people online claiming the exact same issue and Kobo not honouring warranty claiming physical damage for everyone even though kept in pristine condition. So frustrating.
Summary: I as well had the same problem. Kobo Glo only used a few times, kept in a protective case, never dropped or had anything bump up against it or on it and opened it up one day to have it not turn on. Tried all the reset pins, power/light resets and nothing came on. Next day opened up the protective case sitting beside my computer at home and found that their was vertical and horizontal lines over half the screen.
Called Kobo and sent in the pictures by email and they repied back saying it was the result of physical damage. I called again to explain that I hadn't done anything close to ever physically damaging it and I'm the ONLY one whose ever even touched it and they were quick to respond by saying it had to be damaged because there was a spot with a vertical line on the bottom.
They just wouldn't listen or even let me send it in to prove to them there was no physical damage saying it would be a waste of time. This is mind boggling how narrow minded they are and I can see now that after numerous people are having the same problems that there is a defect in their manufacturing and it is happening a lot.
Have never been this frustrated with a purchase under warranty and have a company take NO responsiblity for the product defect. Can't believe they are getting away with this.
