"A small and light hunk of junk."1.0 starson by Cookie0verlord
Pros: Small, light, easy to carry, supports all the right formats.
Cons: Fragile screen, slow, freezes often, bad customer service
Summary: I got my kobo less than 7 months ago and here is my experience with it.
It was nice being able to read books on the go and it was great for the first month. Then the problems started appearing. Turning the pages is slow and glitchy and sometimes the kobo will just freeze while turning a page.
All of that was tolerable but a week ago I discovered a distortion on the top right corner of my screen. Kobo support claims that it's physical damage (broken substrate screen) and has refused to fix my device.
The device was kept in a sleeve within a padded backpack and was not dropped or directly damaged in any way. Even if it is somehow my fault, it's only because the device is too fragile to actually be taken outside.
If you want an e-reader that will last you longer than a year, the kobo mini isn't for you.
