"Why no rating on this product....."
on by EcureuilSauvagePros Responsive touch screen, fast page transition, crisp and clear. Very solid case (not cheap plastic). Not limited to one ebook retailer, ability to borrow e-books from library. Supports many formats (e.g. PDF).... Sleek and Sexy design elements.
Cons Price could be lower, but worth it for quality. WiFi would be nice for this size.
Summary I fail to understand why there is no cnet review rating on this.... Its time to stop comparing last years Sony model to this years Kindle.
Just received my PRS 650 (black) yesterday. Very simple to sync and get books onto it.. including ebook lent from library. Very sharp, easy on eyes, completed one book already... Have to say it is amazing.....

"It reads very good, like a book."
on by Dvora56Pros It doesn't tire the eyes, reads epub very well. Battery life good. Has 2 Giga build-in storage and you can add much more with sd card and/or memory stick. Has a good program for organizing the books on the Reader.
Cons When you enlarge the PDF's the text gets muddled. It didn't come with a case at all, not even a slip case, so you have to buy it separately in order to protect your screen.
Summary It reads many formats, the important ones of course epub and pdf's. The reading experience is really good, you can read it anywhere, although not in the dark.

"not for kids"
on by oliviaworldPros nice color
Cons she wanted pink
Summary Purchased for my daughter. She has read 5 books. The reader stays in the case. The screen is not working and sony won't do anything about it. It is not good for kids. My daughter has never broke anything before so all I can say is thanks for the durable product line. 5 books. argh!

"Great reader. Easy to use and good graphics."
on by kaw6065Pros Light weight, text is easy to use, l like having only the books I haven't read on the ebook and the other 350 on my computer. I love adjusting the size. Battery is good for days. I like the touch screen.
Cons I would like to see a synopsis of what the book is about like the BookNook. And it would be nice if it was in color. They have changed the commands so it is hard to move around.
Summary The 650 PC is my 3 ebook. I just lost it and am trying to figure out if I want to replace it or get a Nook. The ebook did everything I wanted it to. I only use it for reading books. I never used for magazines or pdf files or pictures or songs. But it is great for reading books. If it had color I would load pictures on it and carry it with me all the time. After reading some of the reviews for other ebooks I am thinking I should stick with what I had. I do agree with with the person that said they didn't stand behind it. I had a 505 that had battery problems after 3 months and Sony would not replace it. And what was worse, they were upgrading their system and couldn't even take an order for 3 weeks. Decisions, Decisions.
Great book. It is my 3rd Sony Ebook and I really like it. No glare on the screen, easy to turn pages, long battery life and quick to respond to what I want it to do. They have changed some of the way commands are executed and that is a little cumbersome. Bookmarks are hard to find and using the history to figure out where I was still eludes me. But overall I am thrilled. I only use it for reading books and it is awesome for that.
