Multiple Identities & address book supported

Pros: Not Available

Cons: Not Available

Review: The reviews I read said that there is no support for the Outlook Express Address Book. There is no specific mention in the literature that Multiple Identities are supported. I have three identities on two different domains. I signed on each of them and selected "populate allowed list". My entire address book from each identity was loaded into the allowed list. The support for identities and the address book is excellent. The Spam Blocker functions are better than advertised and the install and setup are simple and intuitive. Great product.

Works well for me and Outlook

Pros: Easy to set up and use

Cons: Haven't found them

Review: My in-box filled with spam while using Macafee and then with Norton Security products. I installed Mail Frontier about three weeks ago. The instalation and set up process was easy and straight forward. No need to read a manual or call support. I just received my second piece of spam while literally several hundred others have been moved the junk folder. I have only had to pull out a couple of emails from business lists I subscribe to that were directed to the junk folder. If the big two leave you cold give this a shot. I no longer dread hitting send/recive only to wade through a junk filled in box.

Useless program if you get 20 or more emails at a time. Locks up and I have to manually delete spam

Pros: None, none, none

Cons: Locks up, I have to keep opening and closing the eamil account hoping the program will work.

Review: Someone got paid off on this program.

Not very configurable, too intrusive

Pros: Easy too install

Cons: too instrusive, can't configure, only catches 70% of spam

Review: I have always been of the opinion that I should be able to configure my computer the way I want. Mail Frontier obviously disagrees. It is extremely annoying. Popup advising you that it is scanning incoming mail is on top and can not be changed so that no matter what program you are working in you are forced to stop and wait for MF to finish. It puts folders that you do not need in Outlook Express where it want's to. If you delete the folder It just re-creates it the next time MF Outlook Express is started. It catches about 70% of spam. I would rate spam catching ability as mediocre.

It's the best I have found111

Pros: Grabs most of the spam and fraudulent emails right out of the box.

Cons: Wont import address book

First don't know how cnet put me in 3 times. As for the product I love it. It caught 95%of the spam and fraudulent email right after installing. After tweeking it from the configuration menu it went to 99.5%. I don't understand the negative comments. It will move spam to the delete folder. In fact you can control how long it stay's in the spam folder. I have not any of the problems reported in the other posts.

Pros: Simple to use

Cons: Can't import address book.

Review: A little hard to set up but seems to catch about 99% of spam.

Won't start with windows

Pros: No pros to something that cost $30

Cons: won't work

Review: Very buggy seldom starts with Outlook Express..try Spamfighter which is free and works
Updated
In fairness, it is working better since I removed and reinstalled it..anything will work better than Norton Antispam which is the worst I have tested; Cloudmark was no thrill either, cuz it misses abunch.
Updated
Amazed to find speedy answer to start up stubborness; Norton was also previously installed, and is a known issue to screw up other programs (as well as slow a system down, which is a free Symantec bonus) and unistalling Norton lets Mail Frontier work perfectly.

Stopped working after a couple months

Pros: It was easy to tag junk mail

Cons: It stopped filtering email that was previously tagged

Review: Once Mail Frontier is installed you can indicate what junk mail you want automatically moved to the Junk folder.
After a couple months, I found I was clicking on the same junk email day after day and it wasn't saving that information. It did have the addresses in the preferences, but didn't automatically move them until I clicked on them as it had been doing previously, so it was the same to me as if I had no filter and was manually deleting them each time. I wrote to Mail Frontier and they had me send some files/logs to them and said that I could install a fix by installing a beta version, so I downloaded that and installed it. I wrote back to tell them that the beta caused Outlook to create a crash dump and couldn't even open Outlook, so I had to uninstall it to just get to my email. I asked them to let me know when they had a different solution and haven't heard from them since- 4 months ago.

Better Than Others, BUT

Pros: The best at catching spam

Cons: Would not load consistently

Review: Much better than any of the other 9 anti-spam programs at catching spam.
BUT:
Problem One - the spam it catches is placed in a MailFrontier folder when it should be removed directly to the "Deleted Items" folder (creates an extra step).
Problem Two - MailFrontier would NOT automatically load with Outlook Express.
Problem Three - became unstable after approximately 10 days and started renaming non-existent folders???
Like I stated - better than any other, but not yet the answer needed. I uninstalled after 2 weeks.

Great at trapping SPAM!

Pros: fast, does not bog the system down, traps 95% the first time, easy to load and use.

Cons: have used it 25 days and none that I can think of

Review: So far Mail Frontiers desktop program works great and traps the spam and junk mail the first time. It doesn't bog the system down. I was able to load it in two user profiles on my XP box and it handles both equally well.
I was looking at Norton but thanks to CNet for a great recomemdation.
