ViewSonic VB50HRTV (TV Tuner Box) (12/22/2001)

Review: This devise is nice in that it is pretty versatile; it can handle several types of input devices and also connect cable/antenna. The remote control and menu options are nice too. BUT, the visual quality is less than what I was expecting. I connect my PS2 and Gamecube to it using S-Video. The main problem I find is a noticable amount of noise, especially with the PS2. In theory, the picture is clear, but the noise cancels this out, making it seem closer to a composite hookup. I'm using a high quality CTR monitor, but unfortunately my much older (also S-Video capable) TV provides a much better image. Its a little disappointing, and is leading me to try to find something better for my games. Its better than nothing though.

Review: This is a great piece of kit and when coupled with a decent TFT screen is a cheaper AND better alternative to those dodgy LCD TV's you see in the shops. I don't like the channel setup though, and I wish the top of the box was flat so that I could stand my monitor on it.

Review: I was going to buy a tv for my room but purchsed the VB50HRTV instead. I have it hooked up to an 18" LCD and it looks great. Works great for playstation and cable tv! The remote is very esay to use.

Review: 1st of all, Erl can't spell and this isn't a freaking monitor moron. And any monitor for $120 isn't worth the price. So how are you even comparing the two?? The TV Tuner card works great. Crisp clear pictures and very easy to setup. The cables included are a bit cheaply designed. They pickup some static now and then. Better to buy some good quality audio cables on your own.

Review: This viewsonic tv-tuner is great. It turns your monitor into a high resolution television. Aside from the exceptoinal picture quality, the features are great. Things like s-video inputs, and a/v inputs make it even better. I Have cable tv on my monitor, as well as my vcr and my playstation 2. I called support and waited for more than 20 minutes and hung up, so that would be my only complaint, but other that that, Its Awsome!!

Review: I've tried several others, the VB50HRTV is the best. Works perfectly even with an older monitor, very sharp, lots of choices of resolutions and refresh rates. First rate.
